Executive committee
The executive committee of IWBio consists of three persons. Members of the executive committee are elected during the general meeting for a period of two years. The current members of the executive committee are: Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinz Maurer, Director Biotechnology of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA (president) , Dr. Ralf Kelle, head of biotechnology, Evonik Degussa GmbH and Dr. Holger Zinke, CEO, BRAIN AG.
Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinz Maurer is a member of the executive office of AMFEP, the representative of the European enzyme industry. He is honorary professor at the University of Greifswald where he sustains his academic network with lectures on "Industrial Biotechnology".
Dr. Holger Zinke is a member of the executive board of the VCI Hessen (Chemical Industry Association) where he heads the Biotechnology Workgroup. Between 2005 and 2008 he was a member of the executive board of the German Association for Biotechnology (Deutsche Industrievereinigung Biotechnologie (DIB)) where he presides over the expert committee "White Biotechnology". Dr. Holger Zinke is also speaker for the biotechnology advisory board and a member of the board of trustees of the University of Mannheim and the university council of the Technical University Darmstadt.
Dr. Ralf Kelle is responsible for biotechnological research in the Health & Nutrition department of Evonik Degussa and coordinating the key competencies Metabolic Engineering and Fermentation within Evonik Degussa. Between 2006 and 2008 he was deputy president of the Biotechnology Workgroup of the VCI.
