Silantes GmbH

Silantes' activities are focused on the production and marketing of biopolymers labelled with stable isotopes (SI: 2H, 13C, 15N) used in NMR structure analysis and quantitative proteomics. The company, which employs 10 people, is a spin-off of the Max-Planck-Institute of Biochemistry. Silantes is the only European company producing SI-labelled biopolymers based on a new technology using chemolithoautotrophic microorganisms. A special niche-product is a SILAC-diet for in vivo-labelling of mouse, C. elegans, Drosophila and zebrafish, a new, robust SI-based method for quantitative in vivo-proteomics.
